Ce projet accompagne la sortie du livre Traversée publié par CFC Editions et couvre dix années de travail. Voici un extrait de l'entretien avec Véronique Danneels qui figure à la fin du livre.
« Je suis fascinée par la création d’une image. Dès lors, mon travail peut aussi bien engager l’idée de la camera obscura que celle du grain de l’argentique, des références au corps photographique, à ses instruments, ses dispositifs, son histoire. Il souligne à quel point une image peut m’intéresser longtemps, jusqu’au moment où je trouve la manière de la traiter.
Je pense être à l’écoute des images ainsi créées. À la prise de vue, j’essaie d’être libérée de toute expectative pour pouvoir suivre mon intuition, être attentive tout au long du processus, car jusqu’à la dernière étape de l’accrochage, il peut se passer quelque chose qu’il faut saisir et laisser vivre.

Le titre Traversée possède les tiroirs d’un mot-valise réunissant plusieurs notions. Il évoque à la fois le voyage, le changement, l’épreuve, le cycle, la durée, le déplacement, le temps. Et une certaine lenteur. »

This project is part of the book launch Traversée, published by CFC Editions, it covers ten years of work. Here is an excerpt from the interview with Véronique Danneels that appears at the end of the book.
“I’m fascinated by the way an image is created. So my work often involves the idea of the camera obscura, that of the grain of silver prints, references to the photographic body, to its instruments, its apparatus, its history. It also underlines the extent to which an image can go on intriguing me, until the point when I find a way of treating it.
I think I am tuned to the images created in this manner. On shooting them I try to remain free from any expectation, so as to be able to follow my intuition to be attentive throughout the whole process: until the last stage of the hanging, something can happen which I have to grasp, to keep alive.

The title Traversée[Crossing] also has the ability to evoke several notions. It suggests at the same time travelling, change, trials, cycles, duration, displacement, time. And a certain slowness. »
